Intro

Plants belong to the Plantae kingdom. They vary in colour, size and structure. As there was no grass during the time of the dinosaurs, they instead ate other plants. Plants could be found in many places all over the Earth. The dinosaurs who ate plants are called herbivores. Some examples of herbivorous dinosaurs include Triceratops, Iguanodon, Parasaurolophus, and Diplodocus. Plants differ depending on where they were grown, like different kinds of forests and deserts. They are living organisms with a substantially different cell structure to animals. For example, they have a thick cell wall around their cells rather than the cell membrane that animals have. Plants are also different from animals in the way that they create their own food through photosynthesis. This process allows them to be the producers in the food chain, as they do not need to consume anything to survive themselves. However, they are eaten by other animals (primary consumers), that are usually herbivores which are then eaten by secondary consumers, which are usually carnivores.
