Giganotosaurus (meaning "giant lizard") is a poorly known species, unlike the "King of the Dinosaurs", T-Rex. However, despite Giganotosaurus name suggests it was larger, it was not stronger and more powerful than Tyrannosaurus.It lived 90mya in what is now South America,in the cretaceous period. Giganotosaurus is the largest carnivorous dinosaur discovered to date (although not the largest carnivorous animal ever, that would be Liopleurodon and a shark called Megalodon).
