I upload this picture by mistake. Seismosaurus Halli is one of the longest sauropods known. It was a huge sauropod and also a herbivore. It lived in the  late Jurassic period, approximately 150 mya. Its enormous size made it almost invincible to Jurassic predators, and the whip tail could be swung with such force at a predator that it would probably crack the predator's ribcage. The only way Seismosaurus halli would have been eaten would be if its carcasses were scavenged (see Prey section). They normally traveled in herds. New reaserch has now been proven that Seismosaurus halli is actually species of Diplodocus, Diplodocus Hallorum or longus.  Although very long Seismosaurus halli was quite light for its size, and many other sauropods were larger seismosaurus name meaning (SIZE-MO-SORE-US) Earthquake Lizardand teh clasification is TITANOSAURIA but Seismosaurus Halli Is not Heavy. The Heavy Sauropod Was BRUHATHKAYOSAURUS MATLEYI  And Seismosaurus Halli Is not Tall The Tallest Sauropod Was SAUROPOSEIDON PROSTELES And The Longest Sauropod Length By 60 meters Was AMPHICOELIAS FRAGILLIMUS .

Fact file

Length: 135 to 150 feet (41 to 45 Metres)

Height: 40 to 45 feet (12.2 to 13.7 metres)

Weight: 55 tonnes

Location: America

Timeline: 170 to 145 mya

Speed: 5.5 mph

Seismosaurus was not easy prey for Jurassic predators such as Allosaurus, as its huge size and whip tail enabled it to fend off/injure/possibly kill the predators. It could be brought down by large packs of Allosaurus, though. However, its sheer size and difficulty to bring down meant that usually its carcasses were scavenged.

General fact

  • The Seismosaurus fossils discovered took 13 years to remove from the ground.
  • New research says it is actually a type of diplodocus, though few people know that.
