Ankylosaurus was a large armoured herbivore that lived towards the end of the Cretaceous period (about 70-65mya). It was completely covered in thick armour (even its eyelids!). It had a huge bone club at the end of its tail which was used to fend off predators such as T-Rex,which lived at the same time and in the same place.

Prey
It was a herbivore, so its food was the low-lying ferns on the Cretaceous floor. It was hunted by the mighty T-Rex, but it was able to defend itself. This is known because Tyrannosaurus Rex fossils have been found with fractures, usually caused by a crippling blow from a powerful Ankylosaurus tail club.
